Where are you located?
Our address is 7039 Route 28, Shandaken, NY 12480. We are in the heart of New York’s Catskill Mountains, approximately two hours from New York City. Nearby: Phoenicia (5 minutes), Belleayre Mountain (14 minutes), Hunter Mountain (25 minutes), Town of Woodstock (25 minutes), Tannersville (27 minutes), and Kaaterskill Falls (34 minutes). The property features a 30-acre island with trails.
What is the best way to get to your hotel and around the Catskills?
Guests can travel by car or bus. We recommend having a car, as taxi service in the Catskills is limited. If you require a taxi, consider reserving in advance with Kingston Kabs at (845) 331-8294 or Woodstock Transportation at (845) 679-7766.
Trailways buses can drop you off in front of the property (buy a ticket to Allaben and remind the driver). There are also daily drop-offs and pickups in Phoenicia and more frequent service in Kingston, followed by a taxi ride. For schedules, visit trailways.com.
Do I need a car to get around?
Yes, we recommend traveling with a car. Taxi service is limited. If needed, arrange taxis in advance with Kingston Kabs at (845) 331-8294 or Woodstock Transportation at (845) 679-7766.
Are you dog friendly?
Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome in select Mountain View King rooms and 2 Bedroom Mountain Suites (up to two dogs per designated room). Please book a dog-friendly room and let us know in advance so we can prepare accordingly.
Do you allow children?
Yes, children are welcome. We do not have full-size cribs, but you are welcome to bring a pack-and-play and any needed supplies. We can provide a keypad code to our pool and spa buildings to prevent unsupervised access. Contact us with any concerns and we’ll be happy to help.
What is included in the cost of the room?
Access to the indoor pool, hot tub, dry sauna, steam room, fitness center, and yoga studio is included. Fitness classes and spa treatments (including massages and private yoga and Pilates sessions) are available at additional cost and depend on the availability of third-party providers.
What meals do you serve in your restaurant?
We do not serve meals. Your group is welcome to use our commercial kitchen or bring your own food to enjoy in the dining room and on our terrace tables. We can also arrange catering or a private chef.
Is access to the indoor pool and fitness center included in our stay?
Yes. Our mountain-facing indoor pool, hot tub, and fitness center are open year-round and included in your stay. Fitness classes and spa treatments are available at additional cost.
What spa treatments do you offer?
We offer a range of treatments. Please inquire prior to your stay if you would like to book a treatment. Availability depends on third-party providers.
Is the spa open to non-hotel guests?
No, the spa is currently reserved for hotel guests.
What outdoor activities do you have for guests?
Explore our 32-acre private island with mountain views, accessible via a footbridge.
- Winter: Snowshoeing (snowshoes and poles provided free of charge; bring weatherproof or insulated shoes).
- Warm months: Outdoor tennis court, hiking trails, and fly fishing on the Esopus Creek. We can arrange a fly fishing guide and equipment or a hiking guide in advance (subject to availability).
What other activities are offered nearby? Are you near the ski mountains?
Yes. We’re a 14-minute drive from Belleayre Mountain and a 25-minute drive from Hunter Mountain. Both offer year-round activities including hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, and snowboarding. Ask us for recommended hiking trails in the region.
What are your local dining recommendations?
There are many fantastic dining options nearby. Email us for a current list of recommendations.
Do you have WiFi at the property?
Yes. We have a dedicated fiber-optic line with gigabit download speeds, available throughout public areas and guest rooms. While we encourage you to relax and disconnect, you’ll be able to stream and text. Each room has cable TV, and you’re welcome to bring your own smart device to connect.
